Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads we know! Our kids are very lucky to have such awesome dads that listen to them, help them, play with them and love them with all their hearts. And we are lucky to have dads that continue to do the same, even though we are grown.

We usually go to the beach every Father's Day, but Roger & I and his parents were still feeling a little under the weather from nasty colds, so we decided to have a mellow day here at the house with BBQ, a little swimming in Spring Park pool and some good ole fashioned ice cream cones...

Junie B

Here are a few cute shots of June Bug. She decided to play tank top peek-a-boo while she was eating and thought it was very funny. She laughs at quite a few things -- I always say she has a good sense of humor for a 1-year-old!

Basketball camp

Justin had the opportunity to attend a three-day basketball skills camp at Champions Sports Complex last week with his friends Owen & Tyler. We have a really nice basketball hoop in the backyard (thanks to Roger & Sharon) where we shoot hoops a bit, but Justin was looking forward to learning some skills and actually playing a few games. And that they did! They did drills from 9 am - 12 noon, had lunch from noon - 1 pm and then played games from 1 - 3 pm. Boy were they tired and sore after the first day!!! But all three of them went right back at it and came home on Friday with better knowledge of the game and some pretty sweet moves!

Nurse Melissa

Since Melissa took out Justin's stitches when he was little (she was a nurse in a prior life!), we thought it was fitting that she remove Chase's stitches as well. All the big boys were excited to watch her take scissors and tweezers to Chase's head. And they even gave him a lollipop after he was done :)

Rite of Passage

A few days after we returned from Ohio, Chase & I spent some time in the Emergency Room getting 5 stitches in his forehead. He & Justin were arguing over a little Kung Fu Panda paper, when Chase turned and ran his head quickly into the corner of the chair rail in the dining room. I thought we could get away with a little butterfly bandage to help it heal, but the wife of one of Roger's coworkers (who is an ER doctor and lives down the street) recommended getting it stitched since it was a "u" shape, not a straight line. Chase & I headed to the ER about 9:30 pm, he fell asleep in the waiting room about 11:30 pm and woke up to the PA sticking a needle in his wound about 1:30 am. We were home by 3 am. What a night!

This last picture is of Justin right before he got his first stitches in Colorado at 18 months. He was climbing rocks at a mini golf park when he fell on a sharp edge. I think he got 4. And no stitches since!

Congratulations Blake!!!

Here is Blake and his good friends Ben Rodabaugh & Ben Hershey after the baccalaureate ceremony (the night before his high school graduation). We are so proud of Blake and the effort he has put in the last couple years on his grades, all his AP classes, the school newspaper, etc... all while keeping a good head on his shoulders!

He is going to UCF in Orlando this fall with a pre-med major. We are excited to have him in Florida and he is excited to be out on his own!

More graduation pictures to come...

Hello Again!

Oh my, it's almost been a month since my last post! It's always time consuming to recover from such a lag, but I enjoy reviewing pictures of my kids and sharing with family & friends, so here we go...

Chase is such a fanatic of the Razor scooter that he hadn't ridden his bike in a long time. Well, one night a few weeks ago, Roger took off Chase's training wheels and put him on. And not surprisingly, he just took off, riding up and down everyone's driveway in our alley and jumping off the curb. Go Chase!!!!
