Slime Time!

In honor of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, the boys got together with some friends to "slime" each other with some homemade goo. It was almost as fun for me to watch it as it was for the kids to play in it! Thanks Erin!!!

Happy Birthday Nami!!!

We just celebrated Grandma Sharon's (a.k.a. Nami) birthday on Friday with dinner and cake at our house. We appreciate who she is and all the things she does for our family. We love you Namo!!!!

Scout Adventures

Since all of our scouts have finished the required achievements and earned their Wolf ranks, we have spent our last few den meetings doing science experiments, walking on stilts, building puddle jumpers, and geocaching. Next up is fishing in a couple weeks!

Misc Carly

Here are some shots of Carly doing various things. Two of her favorite things are building big block towers and being with any animal. I especially like the picture of her sitting on Blake's lap. She's very fond of him!!!

St. Patrick's Day

Justin & Chase really look forward to St. Patrick's Day now that we build leprechan traps to try to trick them out of their gold. The boys got pretty creative with their traps this year, but the the leprechans still got away! They did leave the boys some chocolate coins for their hard work though and I bought them cupcakes with green frosting, as you can see from Carly's face.

Did you know that the kids are 1/8th Irish? :)

Sparkle the Bear at The Robbins House

Chase had a weekend-long homework assignment in his Kindergarten class a couple weeks ago. The class bear, Sparkle, came home with him on Friday and was to go *everywhere* with us. Then we had to write about his experiences in a book along with pictures of the things he did. So, here are the pics...

Sparkle went to lots of sports games... baseball, flag football and soccer. He ate Krispy Kreme donuts, played Wii with Chase & his blankie and hung out with Chase's brothers & sister. He went for a Jeep ride, played on the beach at the Polynesian Resort, celebrated Ellie's 8th birthday and went to Sunday school. But the coolest thing was getting to watch the night launch of the Discovery space shuttle!

The Weins Return!

Our friends, the Wein Family, finally came back to Celebration to visit again since moving to Montreal, Quebec almost 3 years ago. Something was different this time though... they brought their almost-2-year-old daughter, Audrey, with them! Audrey & Carly were born 10 days apart, but had never met until now. It was so cute to watch them play together and notice their similarities & differences. Justin & Isabelle seemed to pick up right where they left off and Chase & Eloise had fun too. They stayed at Disney's Polynesian Resort, so we hung out at the pool & beach there one afternoon...

The Raptors

Chase is playing his second tball season on the Raptors, coached by Bryce Servine and assistant coaches dad, Erec Erickson and Jeff Pifer. He just got a new bat (thanks Kane family) and is hitting like a pro!

The picture in the top left corner is of a life-flight helicopter that landed on the soccer field during the middle of the little league openeing ceremony to transport someone to the hospital!

Cub Scouts Blue & Gold Banquet

On March 1, the Cub Scouts had their annual Blue & Gold Banquet to celebrate Scouting's birthday and to recognize the scouts who earned their rank. All 10 of our scouts earned their Wolf patches, although 2 were sick at home and missed the ceremony. Congratulations boys for a job well done!

ARTrageous

The Celebration School PTA put on a new fundraiser this year called the ARTrageous art auction & dinner. They raised money by auctioning off various art projects from each K-5 class and the art classes from 6 - 8 th grade, selling individual framed artwork, selling tickets for an Italian buffet dinner and conducting a silent auction of donated items. I only took a few pictures of the boys' artwork and of us at the dinner & live auction. The boys were busy having fun at the kids carnival in the gym!

Notice Chase's class painted a lemonade stand for their project

Spring Park Scout Campout

The Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts had a joint campout on the fields at Spring Park this year. The weekend was so busy that I only had a chance to take a couple pictures! After setting up the tent, we went over to the Celebration School to clean up the landscaping as a community service project. Then it was on to various activities such as relay races, birding, geocaching, dinner, campfire skits, etc.

Justin's Soccer Season

Here are a few shots from Justin's current soccer season on the "white" team. He hasn't played since his first season back in 2006, but he's doing a great job. He usually plays half the game as goalie and the other half somewhere else... his coach does a great job of having the kids play all different positions. Most photos are on the bench, but it's hard to get good pictures when the kids are always running!

Playdates with Rhett

Carly & I have been lucky enough to have a couple "playdates" with Melissa's baby Rhett, who is now almost 4 months old. He is such a good baby and Carly is very enamoured with him!

Green Meadows Farm

The boys were invited to Green Meadows Farm just 15 minutes from our house to celebrate Jake Servine's 6th birthday party. Chase had just been to the farm for his Kindergarten field trip, but we hadn't been as a family in a long time and, of course, Carly had never been there. Everyone had a great time running around the farm, seeing all sorts of animals, picking up ducks & chickens, riding horses, milking the cow, feeding the sheep, playing on the playgrounds and eating cake & ice cream. Carly wasn't scared of any of the animals, but was very tired at the end from skipping her nap! Thanks Servine family... :)

Valentine's Day

I know, I'm a bit late with a Valentine's Day post, but March can use a little love too! I volunteered at school on Friday morning (the 13th) where both boys' classes had parties. Chase's class did a couple crafts, decorated & ate cupcakes and played some games (their favorite was 4 corners) while Justin's class pretty much ate candy & danced...

Then we celebrated Valentine's Day with a couple new traditions. Roger & I made a string maze the night before that started in the family room and pretty much went through all the rooms in the house and out into the backyard & garage where each of the boys found a giant hershey's kiss. Yum! We had heart shaped pancakes with strawberries for breakfast, played around the house and then joined friends for a Valentine's Day progressive party that went from our house, to Spring Park and then to the Erickson's house. Maybe we'll make it to the Zollinger's house next year!
