First Machine Pitch Game!

The Celebration Little League just started it's fall season a couple weeks ago, which is more instructional than the competitive spring season... the perfect time for Justin to move from tball to machine pitch baseball! He is on the Washington Nationals, with coach Ralph de Leon and assistant coaches Dad & Bryce Servine.

They played their first game on Thursday night after just two practices and did well. Justin got a base hit and was brought into home with a double and single following him. It was a good start to the season even though we had to stop the game once and end early due to lightning. We can't wait for the next game, which happens to fall on Roger's & my anniversary!

Bodily Noises

Carly has now reached the age where she thinks armpit farts are really funny. Owen & Justin were really going to town the other day and enjoy making her laugh...

Another First for Carly!!!

Carly is now a pro at rolling from her back to her belly. I can't lay her down on the ground without her flipping right over. She has yet to master it the other way around, but she doesn't seem to mind. She is such a happy baby and so much fun to have around...

So much that I took her along to our Ladies Night Out at the Magic Nails salon for a pedicure :)

Spongebob has a dangerous job!

What does Spongebob and our family have in common, you might ask??? He and Blake are both Fry Cooks! This past summer, Blake got a job flippin' burgers at Steak- N-Shake to make some extra cash for gas, car repairs, etc. He only works on the weekends now because he has such a busy school schedule, but it still brings in some money. Anyhow, a couple weeks ago, he was cleaning a grill grate and sliced open his knuckle requiring three blue stitches. After nine days, he decided to take out the stitches himself (because he's not a doctor but plays one on TV) only to realize that it wasn't quite healed yet. Oh well...

Our New Lawn Service

We just hired a new lawn service company called Roger & Sons Landscaping. They not only do a great job, but they are cute -- and free to boot!

Carly June's Adventures

I'm trying to be better about taking pictures of Carly every day since she is growing so fast! Here is one of her about to roll over. She is playing with her favorite Cleo the Cowgirl toy....

Here is Chase giving her some brotherly loving...

And here is one of her on her first playdate with my friend Caroline's fifth child, baby Will, who is 10 weeks younger than Carly. Don't you love his hairdo?!?!?!?

School Lunch!

I went to have lunch with Justin at the Celebration School this past week. Believe it or not, the first grade lunch time is at 10:45 am!!! Although it seemed early at first, Justin has adjusted to it already. He gets to have a snack in the afternoon and then has another snack when he gets home. It's fun to sign in at the adminstration office, get my visitors pass and wait for him outside the cafeteria where we eat lunch with all the other parents having lunch with their kids. Carly had fun too until she got tired and wasn't willing to flash one of her precious smiles at the camera :)

Family Game Night

Celebration just started something new this past summer called Family Game Night. Once a month, the parks & recreation department sets up a room in the Community Center (the 851 building for you locals) and fills all the tables with new games donated by Hasbro. They have Sorry, Scattagories, Trouble, Candy Land, Jenga, Connect Four, Monopoly, Life, Clue, etc. and a bunch of 3-D puzzles also made by Hasbro. We've gone the past two months and had good time, although this last one was a bit quiet since school started and it's on a week night. Chase, Austin & Justin made plenty of their own noise though...

Next month, it's going to be a Ladies Game Night instead of a Family Game night, and they are going to serve wine & cheese for $5 per person. Mark your calendars for Wednesday October 17th!

Roger's Birthday!

Is it September already again? Seems like we just celebrated Roger's 40th birthday and here we are one year later!!! It also seems like birthday celebrations get spread out these days. Why just have one birthday celebration when you can have two or three?!!?

This year, Roger enjoyed a night out with friends at one of the Thai restaurants (his favorite food second to chips & salsa). Too bad I forgot the camera. The restaurant, Thai Thani, is huge and decorated with authentic statues, art, dress, etc. We sat on cushions on the ground and enjoyed yummy food & good conversation. Thanks to all our friends for joining us!

Then we headed to the beach on Monday with Roger & Sharon to have a little family celebration. We decided to go to Cocoa Beach instead of our usual Ponce Inlet because it's closer, but found it to be too crowded and too hot. Next time we'll stick to our favorite. We did have a nice picnic lunch though, spotted a really cool crab and enjoyed the water. Carly, of course, stayed under the cover of the tent and took a couple naps :)

Speaking of Carly, she's getting so big! She just rolled over onto her belly for the first time the other day and has been doing it every day since. We keep telling her to stop growing, but I think our pleading is futile. We are enjoying her so much!

More to come later...
