Osceola County Historical Society
In order for Justin to earn his last achievement for his Tiger Cub Badge in Cub Scouts, we visited the Osceola County Historical Society a couple weeks ago. We had a great time exploring the various buildings they had on the grounds... a "cracker" house, a general store, and schoolhouse, a cow camp, a citrus packing building, etc. Our tour guide, Mike, kept the boys interested and asked them questions. Chase even thoroughly enjoyed it!

Friends for Dinner
The boys always enjoy having people over for dinner, so we told them that as long as they are good and Justin has all his homework done, they are allowed to have a friend over for dinner. So, Davis came over for dinner a couple weeks ago and they enjoyed BBQ pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and green beans outside under umbrellas. It's the simple things in life that make us happy!
Camp LaNoChe, Part 2
Roger & Justin spent a weekend at Camp LaNoChe for the second time and had just as much fun as they did in November. Chase went along too and was able to participate in everything Justin did... swimming, archery, basketball, lassoing, bb gun shooting, crafts, knot tying, hiking, campfire fun, etc. Carly and I even made the trek up there for the day on Saturday and enjoyed watching all the activities and playing in the dirt. The campground is beautiful, but there are some things in nature that aren't so beautiful -- like ticks. I found a couple of them crawling on Carly while we were there and also found a few on Roger and one on Chase after they returned home. Ticks are small, but gross! Then there's the White-Marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar that looks neat to play with, but can blow out it's "spines" and cause an allergic reaction on some people, namely Chase. His neck and chest were covered with hives that turned into scabs with lots of scratching. Other than that, a fun time was had by all and they are looking forward to their third visit.
The Flu in Late April???
Everyone keeps saying "I didn't think you could get the flu this late" but I'm telling you, you can. And we did. Justin, Chase & I were pretty much laid up from last Wednesday until this Tuesday with fever, chills, body aches, fatigue, sore throat, coughing, vomiting, sinus congestion, etc. You name it, we had it! Here is a picture of us all napping in bed...
Now that I'm recovered, I am ready to get caught up on the blog!

Easter, Finally.
When you take lots of pictures, it always takes a long time to go through them, pick out the ones you like, rename them and finally post them. Finally, here are some of the long-awaited pictures from my parents' visit over Easter...

My parents were such good sports while they were here. They never visit during this time of year (usually in July or Decemeber) when we're so busy with baseball, soccer, cub scouts, homework, doctor's appointments, etc. but they just rolled with the punches and never complained. How great is that? They did get to meet the Easter Bunny in Spring Park though, so that's a plus. And they got to spend time with their wonderful daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren :)

The Catcher
Until recently, Justin had played a variety of positions on the baseball field, but never catcher. Someone or something must have inspried him because one day he said "I'm ready" to put on all the gear and be faced with a ball traveling over 35 miles per hour right at his face. Justin did a great job!

Navigate the Plane & Free Rice
Alright, I have lots of stuff to post from my parents' visit, Easter, Blake's visit, Spring Break, etc. but I thought I'd start with this easy one. It's a cool game called "Navigate the Plane" where you have to guess where European cities are located on map. Check it out. It's fun & educational!
And since I'm posting that game, also check out www.freerice.com. It will freshen up your vocabulary while donating rice through the UN World Food Program.
