Xterra Offroad Triathlon
Roger just finished his first Xterra First Coast Offroad Triathlon this past weekend at Hanna Park in Atlantic City. He said it was one of the hardest bikes he's ever done... similar to riding 112 miles on his road bike in the Ironman even though this was only 13 offroad miles!!! We spent the remainder of our our 3-day weekend on the beach in Hanna Park and then drove up to Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach before heading home. We always love the beach!

Monkey Man
I knew we had a few monkeys in our family, but Chase has really proven himself on the monkey bars! Every time we go to the pool, we have to go to the park afterwards so Chase can do the monkey bars for at least 30 minutes. He's very proud of his callouses! He also likes climbing this particular tree and playing with Carly.

New Smyrna Beach
I bet if you looked at our blog from year to year, you would find the same posts with a slightly different story and slightly different pictures. There is something to be said for tradition, right? Anyhow, we once again drove out to New Smyrna Beach to visit the Sams family at the Watermark Condos where Leah's extended family stays for a week or two every July. We do the same things we always do at the beach... make sandcastles, dig for sand fleas & coquinas, try to catch fish that are mostly too fast for the human hand, boogie board, body surf, swim in the pool, eat & drink. We never tire of it though. It was just as fun as last year! Here are a few pictures from the day...
Carly took a 2-hour nap on the beach!!! Heaven!!!
4th of July
I think we've been in Celebration every 4th of July since we've lived here and it's always relaxing, yet fun. This year, we celebrated by marching in the parade (with Cub Scouts and we won 2nd place overall!) boating on Lake Mary Jane with the Erickson's, the Zollinger's and Roger's parents and then enjoying a quick BBQ and some fireworks downtown & at home. Check out this video slideshow of our weekend...

Father's Day
We have spent almost every Father's Day since we've lived in Florida at the beach and this year was no exception. We drove to Ponce Inlet pretty early and stayed until mid-afternoon when our skin could stand no more sun. We body surfed, boogie boarded, surfed, dug holes, made drip castles, enjoyed lunch and opened some Father's Day gifts. I have to say, Roger is one of the best dads around and my dad & my father-in-law are top notch too. Happy Father's Day you guys!!!

Bon Voyage Science Style!
Our good friends, the Merrill's, just moved to Nashville a couple weeks ago. Before they left, Justin, Carly, Chase & I took two of their boys, Davis & Walker, to the Orlando Science Center to hang out together one last time. It wasn't too crowded and everyone was fairly well behaved, so we had a great time exploring the Grossology, Mr. Potato Head, Nature Works, Dino Digs, Kids Town and Science on a Sphere exhibits.
We'll miss them here in Celebration, but look forward to our visit to Nashville in November. Now we have someplace new to go!
Carly's ABC
Roger took this video of Carly in the bathtub on his new iPhone. Yeah for the new video feature on the 3Gs! It's so easy & convenient!
