Welcome to the first blog of the Robbins family -- Roger, Heather, Blake, Justin, Chase & Carly June! A few of our friends recently created blogs to keep extended family and friends updated with their latest news & pictures, so we thought we'd follow suit and do the same. Seems like a quick and easy way to keep everyone posted. Let us know what you think!
Aside from this being our first post, we had a few other firsts this week -- all three boys started school! Blake is now a senior at Oakwood High School and has a busy schedule this semester with AP physics, AP calculus, AP statistics, honors English, sociology and a job as the school's newspaper (The Dome) photographer!
Justin started his first day of 1st grade at the Celebration K-8 School on Monday. His teacher's name is Mrs. Hill. She has been teaching at thes school for the past 6 years and we hear that she is very organized and doesn't put up with any misbehavior. Good for her! Justin seems to be enjoying it thus far, but has noted may differences between his new school and Montessori. He especially misses wearing slippers in the classroom and getting to choose his own work. Guess it will take a few weeks for him to adjust, but we're confident he will do well there.
Chase also started his first day of his second year of preschool down the street at the Montessori School of Celebration. He is in the same classroom as he was last year, has the same teachers and sees all his friends. He is still confused about not being in Kindergarten yet. He always thinks he's as old as Justin! One more year Chase... don't rush it!
Carly went in our neighborhood swimming pool for the first time this past Sunday. We were having a back-to-school potluck dinner at the pool with some friends when part of the pool became shaded. Since Carly has 3 bathing suits that fit her right now, I figured we better take advantage of it and get her in! Since she loves taking a bath, she did well in the pool, even with lots of kids splashing and being noisy. Of course, we did not have a camera to document the occasion, but we will snap some photos next time she takes the plunge. Other than that, she just hangs out and goes with the flow. She is grasping things, putting her blankies in her mouth and rolling to the side. She loves looking at her Cleo the Cowgirl toy and her cabbage patch baby we call "Dolly" and her brothers. Justin can always make her smile :)
